NPCs are Non-Player Characters, characters in roleplay that usually only exist to flesh out a city or a PC's life/past. There are three types of NPCS: City NPCs, Personal NPCs and Dead NPCs.
When making an NPC, you must determine their name, race, age, personality and skills. Personal NPCs must additionally have a history to explain how they know your character and how they've interacted in the past. With skills, you do not have to give them specific exp points; you can simply state their level. However, an NPC cannot have more than 1 master skill and 3 adept skills unless given an okay by admin.
City NPCs[]
City NPCs are specifically made to fill blanks in a city. They can be merchants, travelers, visiting nobility, etc. In each city board, there is a topic that lists the City NPCs so if you go to a store with a determined shopkeeper then you can roleplay that character assisting yours.
Personal NPCs[]
Personal NPCs are usually made by one person to be used by that person multiple times. These include family members, close friends (though we recommend making friends with other PCs!), traveling companions, rivals, etc.
If you plan on using an NPC only once, specifically only in your character's history and maximum one flashback, you do not need to write them out and get them approved by admin. But if you plan to use them multiple times or someone else wants to use the character, you must write them out.
If a Personal NPC shares a home with your character, you are allowed to fraction off the rent by how many people (PC and NPC) live in the home. So if you and two NPCs live in a standard quality Chadrica home, which normally costs 1 onyx yegu per season, your character will only need to pay for 33 gold yegu. However, any jobs the NPC has does not go towards your character's wealth, and you will need to ask admin permission if an NPC can "pay" for something instead of your character. Food will most likely be accepted, but ask to be sure! Do not abuse the NPC rule!
Personal NPCs must be added to your character's application as a separate post with the NPC application.
Dead NPCs[]
Dead NPCs were previously City or Personal NPCs that have died in the past. They follow the same rules as whatever they were in life but must specifically state when they died so people who can use them accidentally do after their deaths. These will mostly be past merchants, officials or family and will only be used in flashbacks.
